May 27th Meetup — WordPress 10th Anniversary

This month’s meetup will be held on Monday at 7pm @ Sonny Brian’s

This month we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of WordPress. We’ll be meeting at Sonny Brian’s to eat barbecue and talk WordPress. The Utah Open Source Foundation has sponsored the location and will be purchasing some drinks and appetizers for the group. Bluehost has also offered to sponsor shirts for the first 30 people to fill out the form below. Look at the shirt on the WP Swag Store for color and size reference.

Please go and sign up as attending here: http://www.meetup.com/WordPress/Salt-Lake-City-UT/930892/ so it is easier for me to get a head count for Sonny Brian’s.

Sorry you can no longer order shirts here.

March 26th Meetup — Patrick Cox — Why Chairs Have Four Legs: Principles of Good User Experience

This month’s meetup will be held on Tuesday at 7pm @ UVU Business Resource Center

Why do chairs have four legs? So you don’t fall on your backside. Just as chairs need four legs to make them usable and sturdy, websites and apps also need four legs to make them usable and sturdy. We’ll go over four basic foundational building blocks — or legs of good user experience (UX) and discuss how these principles can be easily applied to your WordPress sites, or really anything else your going to design or build on the interwebs.

Patrick Cox is a UX Designer at Instructure by day and the co-founder of Aplethora and Payba.cc by night. Besides trying to build a more usable web, he enjoys family, snowboarding, strumming a tune and of course sugar free water mixins.
